If we consider the fact that the wireless communication equipment vendors in the United States are almost completely destroyed, it is easy to understand why the United States is so crazy and unscrupulous. How anxiety in the United States is to ensure that it achieves a 5G global lead. So again, we have to think about what can be achieved to achieve 5G global leadership.


First, support domestic manufacturers to break through various external suppression siege


The upcoming 5G era is an era of unprecedented innovation built on wireless communications infrastructure. 5G will connect factories, cars, drones and other things, and accelerate machine learning and artificial intelligence deployment based on the Internet of Everything. Everyone knows who can lead the 5G network construction, who is standing at the commanding heights of the information age in the future. The premise of 5G network construction is necessarily telecommunications equipment. However, Alcatel-Lucent, Motorola, Nortel and other US-based telecommunications equipment vendors have all been destroyed. Therefore, the United States is still thinking about what to lead the 5G network construction. In addition, at the beginning of this year, a document flowed out by the US National Security Council revealed the US's loss of 5G construction. According to the article, Huawei has already ranked first in the world in terms of LTE market share, and Chinese companies have already increased their research and development of 5G technology. On the one hand, the United States is gradually falling behind, and on the other hand, China is leading 5G. The document also revealed that although the United States has communications giants such as Qualcomm and Cisco, they only provide chips and routers, and do not provide wireless communication equipment. Therefore, no matter what kind of "penalty" is listed, it is difficult for ZTE's sanctioned and Huawei's "blacklist" to be said to have no political purpose. Therefore, supporting the development of 5G equipment vendors such as Huawei and ZTE has become a cause for the Chinese government and domestic operators.


At present, Huawei ranks first in terms of the number of patents published on 5G Polar codes, far ahead of Qualcomm. A list of the number of 5G patents has been circulated on the Internet. This list is a patented technology based on the Polar code. The details of the 5G patent list are as follows. As of the end of July 2018, there are 103 patents in the field of Polar code technology. Among them, Huawei occupies half of the country, with 51 families of patents, accounting for 49.5%; Ericsson ranks second with 26 families. Accounting for 25.2% of the total, Inter Digital ranked third in the US with 6.8% of the 7. It is really exciting that Huawei can have such a patent scale and proportion. That is to say, under the single scenario of eMBB, Huawei occupies more Polar code patents. As for the number of patents of Huawei's LDPC code (Qualcomm-led coding technology), there are 41 network data displays, which are not superior to foreign manufacturers, especially Qualcomm. In addition, we are currently unable to know the patents of Huawei and ZTE in the other two major scenarios of 5G. Of course, this aspect requires 3GPP to set the encoding scheme of mMTC and URLLC. On the other hand, domestic ZTE and Huawei can continue to make great breakthroughs in mMTC and URLLC scenario patents. In addition, there are online public data shows that Huawei's 5G core patents account for about 26% of the total, and the proportion of patents ranks first among all manufacturers. Second, focus on building a 5G industrial chain and ecosystem


The communication industry continues to grow and develop and there is a great relationship between anyone who wants to play with you. At the 2018 Global Partner Conference in Guangzhou, China Mobile announced its “Joint Innovation and Build 5G Ecosphere” program with the goal of “accelerating application demonstration, cultivating killer applications, building 5G+AI capabilities, and researching 5G new business models”. To this end, China Mobile took the lead in setting up a 5G fund with a scale of 30 billion yuan, of which the first phase of 10 billion yuan has been put in place. In addition to China Mobile's active actions in the 5G industry chain and ecosystem, China Unicom is also implementing its own prosperous industrial chain plan. On December 14, China Unicom released a 5G terminal strategy in Guangzhou: integrating 10 billion equity empowerment, 10 billion financial empowerment, and 1 billion platform subsidies during the introduction period and rapid development period to ensure the scale of China Unicom's 5G commercial terminals. At the conference, China Unicom announced its 5G industry terminal promotion plan. At the same time, the “5G Industry Terminal Joint Innovation Lab” was unveiled. Huawei, ZTE, OPPO, VIVO, Samsung, China Xinke and other first partners officially joined. According to China Unicom's plan, the lab will further promote China Unicom's incubation and integration of innovative applications and products in the new era, forming a 5G ecological core capability around China Unicom. At the Global Partner Conference in Guangzhou, China Mobile announced its “5G Network Pilot Program” in detail, including technology piloting, capability piloting and service piloting, targeting standards-first, enabling industries and innovative applications. China Mobile will establish its 5G SA (independent networking) technology solution for commercial trials, build a clouded 5G infrastructure network, and build a next-generation transport network for 5G, ultimately achieving its leading edge in 5G networks. In addition, by planning a 5G network slice series for scenes, enabling vertical industry and other initiatives, together with industry partners to promote 5G final commercial applications.


China Telecom is the first operator in the world to publish a white paper on comprehensive 5G technology perspectives and overall strategy. On June 26 this year, China Telecom officially released the "China Telecom 5G Technology White Paper" at the 2018 Shanghai World Mobile Conference. China Telecom's "5G Technology White Paper" includes the general principles of 5G network evolution, 5G network evolution strategy, medium- and long-term strategy, 5G key technologies and networking solutions, etc., and comprehensively describes its detailed plans and plans for 5G network construction.
